Fidelity

Day One; 31st July, Sunday, 2011.

Somewherearound 2:45 p.m, my sister, Rabia, looks up from her laptop to where Awais and I are sitting and says ‘I got into Pottermore!’ I yell unintelligibly and rush off to my computer in my room.
The Question: “How many owls are on the Eeylop’s Owl Emporium sign? Multiply by 49”. This clue was released at 1 p.m in Pakistan.

Day One; Question.

The Answer:Well, obviously,  Screech, Barn, Tawny, Brown and Snowy. So, that’s 5. 5 into 49= 245.
When I entered that, I got taken to Sony’s Homepage, where I had to click on the Magic Quill amongst the other Quills, like Harry had to find the key with the turned wing in The Philosopher’s Stone. 😀 But unfortunately, registrations had closed. -.-

What it looks like if you find the Magic Quill.

Registration for the first day closed two hours after the post.

Day Two, 1st August, Monday, 2011.

So,  the clue went up at 2 p.m here.
The Question: “What is the number of the chapter in which Professor McGonagall cancels the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff? Multiply this number by 42.”

Day Two; Question.

The Answer: It was Chapter 14, titled ‘Cornelius Fudge.’ 14 into 42=588.
Get taken to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part Two website, where the Magic Quill was hidden in the images,  like Harry’s had to choose the right water tap right in Chamber of Secrets. 😀

Yay for all those who got in on Day Two.

Registration for the second day closed less than 1.5 hours after the post.

Day Three, 2nd August, Tuesday, 2011.

(THE DAY I GOT IN! :D)
The clue went up at 3 p.m.
The Question: “In the Gryffindor versus Slytherin Quidditch match, in Harry’s third year, how many points is Gryffindor leading by before Harry catches the Golden Snitch? Multiply this number by 35.”

Day Three; Question.

The Answer: Gryffindor was leading by 60 points before Harry caught the Snitch (Gryffindor 80, Slytherin 20). So, 60 into 35=2100.
I was directed to an online article where the Magic Quill was in an ad space. The Quill had to be levitated. I thought it had something to do with Harry falling from his broom when the Dementors attacked him in Prisoner of Azkaban and Dumbledore levitating him to slow him down. Anyway, forget the swish and flick, and SCREAMING Wigardium Leviosa at the damn thing doesn’t work. You had to furiously move your mouse right and left over the Quill.

'Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's LeviOsa, not LeviosAR!'

Registration on the third day closed 57 minutes after the post.

Day Four, 3rd August, Wednesday, 2011.

The clue went uparound7 p.m.
The Question:“How many students take part in the Triwizard Tournament during Harry’s fourth year? Multiply this number by 28.

Day Four; Question.

The Answer: Harry Potter, Cedric Diggory, Viktor Krum and Fleur Delacour, so that’s 4. 4 into 28=112.
There were a few problems with the site, and a few users were taken to the Sony page. But on entering the site address again, they got to the registration page.

Day Five, 4th August, Tuesday, 2011.

Good luck.
